On this page i will be comparing the differnt consoles.
The consoles what i will be comparing is the ps3 (the 80GB, 60GB, 40GB and 20GB), the nintendo wii, the xbox360 (elite, arcade, and orginal).
First of all i will be comparing; Sony's playstaion 3 and the xbox360:
Controllers Specs:
PS3: wireless controllers, bluetooth, with a option to use a PSP system as a optional controller, ps3 can handle up to 7 controllers at once, the controllers are also recharable with sixsax. Plans of a Duel shock 3 with sixsax controllers is going to hit the stores soon.
360: 2.4GHz wireless or wired controllers. Up to 4 controllers can be used, the controllers also require to AA battries has old duelshock 2 technology and no sixsax.
Processing power:
PS3: The CPU of the PS3 is a 3.2GHz cell boardband engine with 8 "synergistic" processing units. The PS3 has 256MB of main memory and 256MB of video memory and a bandwidth of 25.6GB.
360: A 3.2GHz gs with 3 duel threaded cores, 360 has 1MB of L2 cache, it also shares 512MB between the CPU and GPU, it has 22.4GB.
Hardware:
PS3: The PS3 either comes with a 80, 60, 40 or 20 GB HDD (depends what model ps3 you have.) whitch is removeable and upgradgeable to any size HDD you want. Ability to use sony's memorys sticks, SD cards and CF is a added plus.
360: The 360 comes with a 20GB HDD, but can only be replaced with a 120GB 360 HDD. The HDD is enclosed in a plastic shell and becomes void if opened. The 360 can only use 360 style of memory cards.
Format war:
PS3: Has a built in blu-ray HD-BD/DVD player and also a normal DVD player. Blu-ray support for games. Also has full backwards compatibity without limits.(also depends on whitch model ps3.)
360: The 360 DVD player is stock, if you wnat to watch HD-DVD's you wil need to buy a external HD DVD drive for $200 (£100). The HD-DVD is not included in the 360 elite pack.
Online gaming:
PS3: The PS3 has a built in WI-FI 10/100/1000 base T ethernet ports in the rear of the console. The online service is also free for both going on the net and playing online games.
360: The 360 has a ethernet port, it is also WI-FI capable but the WI-FI accesory will cost you a extra $100 (£50) and online services or onling gaming is NOT free.

Processing power
consoles: All the consoles have there own processing powers and are differnt from there rivals processing powers.
PC: With a pc you can build and customise your own processing power, as long as your willing to spend the money regually upgrading your pc to keep the performace and specs up to date.
Hard Ware:
Consoles: The consoles already come built with all/ most of there hardware installed so there is very little constrcution you need to do.
PC: With a pc you can choose from a already made pc, to a pre made one or build one totaly from stratch and the results of the hard ware will be differnt in each case. You can get single, duel or quad core CPU's, differnt size and types of RAM, differnt variations of graphics cards, differnt varitaions of sound cards, differnt motherbords.
Price differance:
Consoles: Since all consoles with pritty much what you need (with expection of games and some other assories) after you bought the consoles it self and a game or two there wont be a lot you will need to spend on it afterwards.
PS3 pricing: Starting price, £299.99, with your console you get a rechargeabale SIXAXIS wireless controller, Control Pad Powerlink Cable, a Tv airial cable, a instuction booklet, power cable, Network Lan Cable. A new game can cost between £40-£50, a extra controler will set you back £30.00, blu-ray film will cost £25.00. Total cost: £369.99
360 pricing: Starting price: £299.99, with your console you get a Wireless Controller, a tv airial cable, a instuction booklet, a power cord, headset, You would need to buy a HD-DVD extranl player whtich costs £100, a Wireless Network Adaptor with costs £55.00, a Rechargeable Battery Pack whitch costs, £7.99, a game between £40-£50, and a HD-DVD film will cost £17.98. Total: £520.96
